Capstone Partners Advises T-DOC Company, LLC on Sale to LABORIE

Philadelphia, PA – Capstone Partners LLC, a leading investment banking firm, announced that it has successfully advised T-DOC Company, LLC on its acquisition by LABORIE.

T-DOC is a manufacturer of urology, urogynecology and anorectal manometry diagnostic products, specializing in air-charged disposable urodynamic catheters. The Company’s patented line of single-use catheters use tiny pressure-sensing air balloons to assess internal pressures for urodynamic diagnostic testing procedures. T-DOC’s innovative products deliver enhanced accuracy and consistency, feature a more streamlined and simpler process for setup and calibration and provide better patient comfort. T-DOC has cultivated a loyal following of physicians and hospitals in the US who value both more reliable and accurate measurements, which aid in proper diagnosis as well as reduced time per procedure and for staff training, critical advantages in today’s outcome-focused and cost sensitive healthcare environment.

T-DOC was acquired by LABORIE, a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity. Headquartered in Toronto, LABORIE is a leading global developer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative medical technology specializing in computerized urodynamic equipment and consumables used for the diagnosis and treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence, as well as other pelvic floor disorders in the urology, gynecology and colorectal fields. “This acquisition strengthens our position in the urodynamic market,” stated Brian Ellacott, LABORIE President and CEO. Russell Lalli, COO of T-DOC added, “The combined resources of T-DOC and LABORIE will allow us to expand our consumables product offering, as well as promote and develop the air-charged catheter market internationally. Hats off to the Capstone team in ensuring this complex deal reached the finish line as well as for the effort they extended over several years serving as a valued strategic advisor to the Company.”

“We are proud to represent T-DOC, a Company that has excelled based on delivering high quality innovative urodynamic testing consumables,” commented Eric Williams, Managing Director of Capstone. “We believe LABORIE/Audax are ideal partners and will help T-DOC scale its business globally and duplicate the success it has achieved in the North American market. As a partner, Audax Private Equity has a stellar track record of building leading manufacturers of medical technology and diagnostics equipment through organic growth, selective acquisitions and a relentless focus on developing recurring revenue streams from testing consumables.“

“T-DOC operates in a growing industry, supported by positive demographic trends, increasing prevalence of incontinence as the population ages and the desire among seniors to enjoy an active and youthful lifestyle,” added Mark Surowiak, Capstone Director. “Furthermore, the Company’s proprietary line of catheters satisfies the pressing needs of healthcare providers to improve outcomes, reduce unnecessary procedures and boost efficiency. We continue to see strong M&A and consolidation opportunities in the medical device market with active interest from strategic and financial buyers alike.”
