Capstone Partners Completes Integration of Acquired TM Capital and Select Janney Teams, Unifying the Firm’s Growing Investment Banking Platform

Expanded sponsor coverage and new leadership talent strengthen capabilities for clients and partners nationwide

BOSTON, MA – September 15, 2026 – Capstone Partners (“Capstone” or “the Firm”), a leading middle market investment banking firm, and subsidiary of Huntington Bancshares Incorporated (NASDAQ: HBAN), today announced the completion of its integration of TM Capital (“TM”) and select business units from Janney Montgomery Scott (“Janney”), unifying the combined organizations under the Capstone Partners brand and operating platform. The milestone solidifies the Firm’s transaction objectives of expanding existing industry expertise, sponsor coverage capabilities, and market intelligence resources to position Capstone for the next phase of its planned growth strategy.

Following Capstone’s acquisition of TM and targeted teams at Janney in December 2025, the completion of the integration process will ensure a unified experience for clients and partners. The Firm now operates through a fully integrated national investment banking platform, supported by expanded M&A, sponsor coverage, and leadership teams, a refreshed website at capstonepartners.com, and a consolidated LinkedIn presence. Former TM and Janney clients will continue working with the professionals they know and trust while gaining access to the full breadth of Capstone’s platform, including access to one of the largest pipelines of privately owned businesses in the industry and enhanced connectivity to Huntington’s broader Corporate Bank and Capital Markets capabilities.

“As one firm, we can bring our clients the full depth of Capstone’s services together with the deep sponsor connectivity and relationships TM has built over decades,” commented Jarrad Zalkin, who served as the former Head of TM Capital and recently joined Capstone’s senior executive team as Head of Investment Banking. “More importantly, we’re moving forward as one team under one brand and vision, with a shared culture and commitment to better serving financial sponsors and middle market business owners. With the integration now completed, we are all excited about the opportunities ahead of us in the market for customers and internally for our employees.”

Since the start of the integration, Capstone has capitalized on the opportunity to invest aggressively in key operational areas and ascend a new cadre of professionals into the Firm’s leadership team. Most notably, Capstone committed to a greatly expanded Financial Sponsor Coverage Group (“FSG”). Following Brendan Burke’s transition from Head of FSG to Head of the Firm’s Business Development (“BD”) group, Scott Smith, formerly of Baird, Goldman Sachs, and Piper Sandler, joined the group as Co-Head to shape strategy in this area. In parallel, Palmer Henson was also named Co-Head to ensure leadership bandwidth to execute against the planned growth.

In addition, Capstone recently welcomed Tim Ludwick as a Managing Director on the FSG team, and several other new and existing FSG team members were elevated to senior positions. These include Ashton Gillespie—a recently promoted Director who spearheads the Firm’s annual Business Owner and Private Equity Summit—as well as Jon Adrien and Tommy Portelance, both key members of the growing team. These investments come at an opportune time as Capstone’s FSG team deepens collaboration with Huntington’s broader Capital Markets platform, led by Chris Wood—including the platform’s Sponsor Coverage team of seven professionals under Eric Welsch and its Syndicated & Leveraged Finance platform of close to 30 dedicated professionals, led by Keith Roberts. Together, these complementary capabilities further deepen the Firm’s connectivity across the financial sponsor community and enhance its ability to support sponsors and their portfolio companies with integrated advisory and capital solutions.

In other areas, Capstone named Yogi Punjabi to Head of the Consumer M&A advisory team, and Sam Matlin to Head of the Business Services M&A advisory team. The appointment of Punjabi, who joined the Firm in 2019, and Matlin, who joined the Firm in 2020, represents exciting momentum for Capstone’s cohort of emerging leaders, building upon their established reputations within their respective industries.

With the acquisition of new talent, new specialized groups were also formed including the Founders & Family Advisory (“FFA”) group, led by David Allebach and David Reed, both formerly of Janney. The FFA group provides specialized advisory support to founder-led and family-owned businesses while creating curated deal flow opportunities for private equity firms and portfolio companies.

“We reached this point ahead of schedule, largely driven by the openness and acceptance of our newly welcomed TM Capital and Janney colleagues. Culture is a foundational element of Capstone and the people aspect of this combination proved to be extraordinary. Collectively, they have made Capstone a stronger firm,” commented John Ferrara, Capstone’s Founder and President. “It’s been close to 25 years building Capstone, and I have never been more excited about the opportunities ahead for the Firm, our clients, and our impressive collection of rapidly developing, talented people. “We are very well positioned to usher in the next phase of our growth strategy, further enhanced by the scale, connectivity, and talent brought together through our deepening partnership with Huntington. The market should expect more from our combined teams in the years ahead.”
