Capstone Partners advised Bricata, Inc. (Bricata), a developer of network security and data protection solutions, on its sale to an undisclosed strategic buyer. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bricata is a next-generation Network Detection and Response (NDR) provider whose technology analyzes network traffic for vulnerabilities and threats to keep enterprise networks operational and in a trusted state. Bricata’s NDR technology delivers complete network visibility, eliminating blind spots and allowing users to intelligently capture and analyze network data.
Capstone was insightful in capturing and communicating to potential buyers the key underlying value drivers in the business and technology. The team was diligent and tenacious in running a process to identify the best strategic fits and unlock value for shareholders.
Bricata was founded by John Trauth and is backed by venture capital firm Edison Partners. Bricata’s differentiated technology and mission-driven ethos have attracted a loyal and growing base of enterprise and government customers. With the successful maturation of its offering and current market dynamics, this represented an ideal time for Bricata to pursue a sale.
“Bricata brings a unique and powerful technology that is extraordinary in its capability to operate at scale in protecting some of the largest enterprise networks in the world,” commented Capstone Managing Director Thomas McConnell.
Capstone Managing Director David Brinkley added, “It has been a privilege for the Capstone Cyber team to represent the shareholders of Bricata on this transaction. As NDR expands to encompass the full complexity of today’s hybrid enterprise environments, we look forward to Bricata playing an impactful role, deploying effective, scalable solutions in today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape.”
