Capstone Partners has advised AirPrime, aa supplier of high-speed Code Division Multiple Access wireless products, on their sale to Sierra Wireless. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition for Sierra Wireless was put in place to increase revenue, add to fourth-quarter earnings, excluding integration costs, broaden its product line and strengthen its balance sheet. Both firms also make cellular radios that can be slipped into laptops or personal digital assistants. The combined entity is expected to be a well-positioned market leader with a broad product line, innovative engineering, blue chip customers, global channels and a strong balance sheet.
