Capstone Partners advised Universal Silencer, a manufacturer of acoustic filtration equipment, on its Sale to Stirling Group, LLC
Universal Silencer of Stoughton, Wis. is one of the world’s premiere designers of noise control and air filtration solutions. Since 1959, manufacturers, packagers and end-users have relied upon Universal Silencer’s standard and custom-engineered inlet and exhaust solutions to noise and emissions issues for industrial applications of large diesel and turbine engines, compressors, blowers and other air movement equipment. Universal Silencer’s diverse solutions have been implemented in numerous markets, including industrial, power generation, marine, oil and gas, and emissions.
Prior to the sale, Universal Silencer was part of the Cummins, Inc. Filtration business. “The transition of ownership to the Stirling Group ensures a sale to people who have a vested interest in USI. They are in the best position to grow the business,” said Pamela Carter, president of Cummins Filtration.
