DENVER, CO – Capstone Partners advised Weiss Residential Research (WRR), a provider of proprietary technology that optimizes housing market decisions, on a strategic investment from Kroll Bond Rating Agency, Inc., a Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization (NRSRO) registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
WRR’s founder & CEO Allan Weiss, who was instrumental in creating several residential risk management solutions over the past 20 years, co-founded Case Shiller Weiss (CSW) with Professors Karl Case and Robert Shiller. CSW created home price indexes at the metro area and zip code levels.
Weiss Residential Research’s proprietary technology optimizes housing market decisions for anyone involved in investing in or owning residential properties. Weiss’ technology has calculated property specific price indexes for over 45 million homes, far more than alternative index databases. The increased resolution of the WRR indexes makes unseen trends visible, providing earlier indications of market changes.
David Francione, Managing Director at Capstone, stated, “The unique data set that Weiss Residential has developed for the home price analytics area combined with KBRA’s positioning in ratings, creates a compelling market opportunity for Weiss’ solutions.”
Capstone Partners acted as exclusive financial advisor to Weiss Residential Research in the transaction. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
