Boston, MA – Capstone Partners, a leading middle market investment banking firm, joined national nonprofit Shoes That Fit to distribute more than 800 pairs of shoes to underprivileged elementary school children as part of the firm’s “Capstone Cares” charitable initiative.

Capstone team members volunteered alongside Shoes That Fit at Blackstone Elementary School in Boston and Ashley Elementary School in Denver to provide over 800 young children with new athletic shoes. This volunteering effort saw 500 pairs of shoes distributed in Boston and 300 in Denver.

By outfitting children with new shoes, Shoes That Fit aims to tackle one of the most visible signs of poverty and an often-overlooked obstacle to regular school attendance.

Shoes That Fit is a wonderful organization and Capstone is proud to support their efforts to ensure children attend school in comfort. Our team members felt privileged to spend time at the schools and see the impact this initiative made on children in their communities.

The shoes were purchased with funds raised through Capstone’s “Capstone Cares” initiative, which donated $300,000 across six charities in 2021. In addition to the in-person volunteer effort, $50,000 of these funds were directed to Shoes That Fit. Other recipient organizations included Heart & Hand of Denver, the C5 Youth Organization of Dallas, Detroit’s Matrix Human Services, Toys for Tots of Richmond, and the Boys & Girls Club of Boston.
