Karl D’Cunha

Karl D’Cunha is a Managing Director in the Financial Advisory Services group at Capstone Partners. Karl’s professional career spans twenty‑five years, during which he has provided financial advisory services to public and private clients in connection with mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, spinoffs, recapitalizations, going‑private transactions, and strategic alternative assessments. He also delivers fairness, solvency, and other transaction‑related valuation opinions.

With a focus on valuation services, Karl has worked extensively with hedge funds, private equity sponsors, private credit funds, and other investment vehicles across multiple disciplines, including expert witness engagements, portfolio valuation, and investment banking mandates. He has a demonstrated track record of leading successful transactions across sell‑side and buy‑side M&A, complex capital raises, distressed and stressed portfolio sales, and other special‑situation assignments. Karl is also recognized for building and developing high‑performing teams and divisions within leading financial advisory firms.

Prior to joining Capstone, Karl was a Managing Director at Ankura Consulting, LLC and at CBIZ, Inc., and previously served as a Senior Managing Director at Madison Street Capital and Houlihan Smith & Co. Earlier in his career, he worked in the asset management groups at Ernst & Young, LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where he began his professional journey.
