David Rychalsky

Managing Director

David has 25 years of experience advising companies, owners, lenders, creditors and other key stakeholders through challenging and often distressed financial situations. His work is largely concentrated on insolvency and reorganization proceedings such as Chapter 11 and 7 Bankruptcy, out-of-court workouts, restructurings, liquidations and Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs). Rychalsky consistently deploys a pragmatic tact and focuses on being a strong advocate for clients while preserving and enhancing value for all constituencies. His vast experience sitting on all sides of the business table enables him to acutely understand each stakeholder’s role, leverage and achievable outcome in the process.

David has been engaged in more than 75 cases throughout his career, ranging from lower and middle market entities to complex mega-cases. He has served in various interim management, fiduciary and C-Suite roles such as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), Interim CFO and Assignee.

Prior to Capstone, Rychalsky started his restructuring career in KPMG’s Corporate Recovery practice in Boston before serving in senior positions at Mesirow Financial Consulting. He is active in the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and is a member of its Northeast Advisory Board, serving as co-chair of the Northeast Conference from 2017-2021. He is also a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor.
