Brent is a Managing Director within Capstone Partners’ Debt Advisory Group and has over 25 years of experience in advising, structuring, and executing middle market debt transactions for private equity sponsors, small cap public, and private companies. He has arranged and placed capital for a variety of transactions including acquisitions, mergers, refinancings, restructurings, and dividend recapitalizations.
Brent’s experience spans across a broad array of industries and he has structured numerous credit facility types including leveraged term loans, asset-based loans, unitranche facilities, leases, second lien loans, and subordinated debt. He has developed a deep network of lender and investor relationships across the middle market and is a trusted advisor for clients delivering tailored solutions that meet company objectives.
Prior to Capstone, Brent was the Managing Partner for Monroe Credit Advisors, a boutique credit advisory firm, where he spent 13 years advising clients and helping the firm place capital across 100+ transactions. Prior to Monroe, Brent was a lender working as a Vice President at GE Capital’s $3.6 billion Unitranche Fund, where he structured and underwrote unitranche finance transactions. He also was a Vice President at Merrill Lynch Capital, where he sourced, underwrote, and managed cash flow loans that primarily supported private equity leveraged buyouts. Brent began his lending career at US Bank in Minneapolis where he underwrote middle market loans to private companies and entrepreneurs.
