Capstone Partners Welcomes Managing Director Ren Nebel to its Energy, Power & Infrastructure Group, Expanding Presence in Texas

Boston, MA – Capstone Partners, a leading middle market investment banking firm, is pleased to welcome Ren Nebel to the firm. Nebel joins Capstone’s Energy, Power & Infrastructure Investment Banking Group (“the Group”) as a Managing Director. He adds significant depth to the Group’s specialized industry expertise and is based in the high-growth market of Houston, TX. He will predominantly focus on coverage of the Fuel Distribution, Energy Infrastructure Services, Renewable Fuels, and Water Management sectors.

Prior to joining Capstone Partners, Nebel founded a boutique financial advisory firm, Navesink, which focused on working with founder and entrepreneur-owned companies across a variety of Energy sub-verticals, including Fuel Distribution, Oilfield Services, and Renewable Fuels. In his new role, Nebel will leverage his vast experience advising middle market businesses in these areas on strategic transactions to facilitate growth, legacy preservation, and more.

Nebel began his investment banking career in the Power, Energy and Infrastructure Group at Lazard Freres & Co., and more recently, served in the Oil & Gas Group at Moelis & Company, during which he advised on a range of M&A, capital markets and restructuring transactions totaling over $15 billion. He has successfully led numerous high-profile deals in the industry and established strong relationships with key strategic players. His deep understanding of the Energy landscape and proven track record of success will be instrumental in driving the growth of the firm’s Energy, Power & Infrastructure practice and expanding the firm’s presence in Texas.

Notable transactions Nebel has advised on include the sale of Kamps Propane to Superior Plus Corp, the sale of Reliable Industrial Group to Blue Wolf, and numerous buy-side and carveout assignments across the Energy value chain.

Nebel commented, “I am thrilled to join Capstone’s robust platform and talented team to grow its Energy, Power & Infrastructure practice in Texas. There are significant tailwinds supporting positive momentum in the Energy M&A market looking ahead to 2025 and beyond. The return of capital flows into the industry and supportive policy are anticipated to spur innovation, entrepreneurialism, and M&A activity.”

Ted Kinsman, Head of Capstone’s Energy, Power & Infrastructure Group, added, “Ren has already proven to be a valuable asset to Capstone’s Energy, Power & Infrastructure Group. We are confident that his expertise aligns with the Group’s growth plans for 2025 and look forward to the positive impact he will have on the firm and its clients.”
